Snowmobile Oils
Whether you live to hit the trails with friends and family or carve the fresh mountain powder, you expect your sled to deliver peak performance no matter how hard you ride. That’s why AMSOIL formulates synthetic snowmobile oils to deliver exceptional cold-flow, exhaust power valve cleanliness and wear protection. The oils are designed to be pushed as hard as the sleds they protect, whether you ride a Ski-Doo®, Polaris®, Arctic Cat®, Yamaha® or other brand. Plus, AMSOIL synthetic snowmobile oils are Warranty Secure®, keeping your factory warranty intact.
Synthetic 2-Stroke Snowmobile Oil
Today’s two-stroke snowmobiles direct less oil to critical components, through narrower passages, for longer distances. Four-stroke engines, meanwhile, are splash lubricated. Thick oil can cause difficult starts while failing to properly lubricate at startup, increasing engine wear. While snowmobile manufacturers may be experts at building sleds, none of them can match AMSOIL expertise when it comes to formulating synthetic Snowmobile oils.
INTERCEPTOR® Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil
High-performance 2-stroke oil with an emphasis on exhaust power valves. Contains high levels of detergent additives to prevent valve sticking. Replaces manufacturer-branded oils. Injector use or 50:1 premix. Excellent in snowmobiles.
Racing Testimonial: AMSOIL snowmobile oil saves engine
During the Pro Open final at the opening rounds of AMSOIL Championship Snocross, professional rider Lincoln Lemieux’s Ski-Doo lost all its engine coolant after a hose clamp broke. Despite intense heat that melted the exhaust power valve covers, O-rings and gaskets, AMSOIL DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Racing Oil protected Lemieux’s engine so well, the team is able to reuse the engine after replacing the melted parts.
Two-stroke snowmobiles are meant to be ridden hard. Repeatedly pushing a machine to wide-open throttle during all-day, aggressive riding, however, takes its toll on the engine. INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is specifically designed for maximum performance in all makes of two-stroke snowmobiles, including Ski-Doo*, Polaris* and Arctic Cat*, helping enthusiasts spend more time riding and less performing maintenance. It is compatible with nearly all other two-stroke oils, while its low-smoke, low-odor properties help ensure riders won’t be “smoked out.” INTERCEPTOR is engineered to be pushed as hard as the sleds it protects.
Anti-Scuff/Anti-Wear
Snowmobile engines have evolved to run on leaner gas-to-oil mixtures, increasing harmful friction and heat. INTERCEPTOR’s synthetic formulation incorporates high-molecular-weight components with high flash points that resist burn-off. As a result, a greater amount of oil survives the combustion process to provide lubrication and protection. Its excellent lubricity and film strength inhibit metal-to-metal contact. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR’s anti-scuff/anti-wear formula completely prevented piston skirt scuffing.
Excellent Deposit Control
INTERCEPTOR naturally resists harmful deposits due to its thermally stable synthetic formulation. It is additionally fortified with high-temperature detergency and dispersancy additives that provide excellent engine cleanliness. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR completely prevented piston ring and exhaust power valve sticking for maximum performance. It also limited piston, combustion chamber and spark plug deposits for reliable operation.
INTERCEPTOR Field Trial Results
During the winter of 2015/16, INTERCEPTOR was tested in the three top makes of snowmobiles. Each sled was added to the rental fleet of a different outfitter in the Eagle River, Wis., area and placed into service. Following the season, the sleds were disassembled and examined for wear. Results reveal INTERCEPTOR prevented piston ring sticking and piston scuffing, (see below) while the exhaust power valves contained no abnormal deposit buildup and did not stick.

Excellent Lubricity and Film Strength
High-performance and race-designed two-stroke engines operate under severe conditions. They are modified for higher compression ratios, higher rpm and leaner combustion, all of which increase heat and pressure. High heat can quickly burn off light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances and increasing the likelihood of piston scuffing and seizure. High pressure can exceed the film strength of low-viscosity oils, which promotes crankshaft bearing wear and pitting.
DOMINATOR is purpose-built for outstanding film strength and lubricity. It is engineered with carefully selected, higher-viscosity synthetic base oils to withstand the high heat and pressure common to high-performance and racing applications. DOMINATOR’s anti-friction chemistry is race-proven to provide an extra measure of protection against piston scuffing and bearing wear.
Outstanding Cleanliness
The oil and fuel burned in the two-stroke combustion process leave destructive deposits on the pistons, rings and in the combustion chamber. Excessive deposits can lead to catastrophic engine problems, including ring sticking, exhaust port blocking and pre-ignition.
AMSOIL DOMINATOR is formulated with clean-burning synthetic base oils and powerful high-temperature detergent additives for exceptional deposit control. It helps prevent the power-robbing carbon deposits that cause ring sticking, exhaust port blocking and pre-ignition. AMSOIL DOMINATOR is optimized for severe service.
RACING IS RESEARCH™
During the opening weekend of the 2015/16 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season, professional rider Lincoln Lemieux’s Ski-Doo* RS600 suffered a broken hose clamp, allowing the coolant to pump from the system. The intense heat that resulted melted the exhaust power valve covers, O-rings and engine gaskets. DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Racing Oil, however, delivered exceptional protection despite the severe conditions. The rings and pistons were still free and the crankshaft turned freely. Scheuring Speed Sports is able to reuse the engine after repairing the melted parts, providing concrete testimony of DOMINATOR’s superior performance.

Fuel Additives and Carburetor Cleaner for Snowmobiles
Quickshot®
Premium fuel additive formulated to thoroughly clean and restore peak performance in small engine and powersports equipment fuel systems. Its revolutionary technology focuses on three major fuel-related issues plaguing these applications: ethanol, water and dirty pump gas.
Degraded fuel presents a major maintenance issue in small engines and powersports equipment. It can form varnish, gum and insoluble debris that clog carburetors, fuel injectors and fuel filters. Carbon buildup can form on the tops of pistons, causing pre-ignition, rough idling and poor throttle response. Fuel-related problems are only expected to intensify in the coming years as the ethanol content in pump gasoline continues to increase.
AMSOIL Quickshot (AQS) is a premium fuel additive formulated to thoroughly clean and restore peak performance in small engine and powersports equipment fuel systems. It also stabilizes fuel between uses and during short-term storage. Its revolutionary technology focuses on three major fuel-related issues plaguing these applications: ethanol, water and dirty pump gas.
Ethanol
Ethanol in fuel has a tendency to absorb water and separate from the gasoline (a process known as phase separation), sinking to the bottom of the gas tank where it quickly degrades and creates gum, varnish and other insoluble debris that can plug fuel-flow passages and negatively affect engine performance. When this ethanol/water mixture is pulled into the engine, it creates a lean-burn situation that increases combustion chamber temperatures and can lead to engine damage. AMSOIL Quickshot is designed to keep water dispersed throughout the fuel tank, moving it out as a normal part of operation and decreasing the chance of ethanol separating from the gasoline.
Quickshot was tested in fuel containing 10 percent ethanol. Controlled plugging of injectors showed a 70 percent flow improvement, while oxidation stability improved 44 percent over untreated fuel.
Water
Water finds its way into gas tanks through condensation in tanks open to the atmosphere, gas pumps and other environmental conditions, and if left untreated, will cause starting, performance and corrosion problems. By keeping water dispersed in tiny molecules and safely moving it out of the tank through the combustion chamber, Quickshot helps maintain engine performance and protects against damaging corrosion.
Dirty Gasoline
Dirty gasoline causes fuel-system gumming and varnish, as well as piston and combustion chamber deposits. Although all gasoline sold in the U.S. is formulated with a lowest additive concentration (LAC) level of detergent additives, these detergent levels are not enough to prevent deposits from building up on critical fuel system components. Quickshot contains unique chemistry that quickly detaches and carries away deposits and buildups in fuel systems, injectors and carburetors, while also cleaning hard-to-remove deposits on piston tops, spark plugs and other combustion chamber parts.
APPLICATIONS
Quickshot (AQS) is recommended for use in all two- and four-stroke gasoline-powered engines, including motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, personal watercraft, ATVs, edgers, tillers, mowers, snowblowers, chainsaws, generators and farm and construction equipment. However, AMSOIL P.i.® Performance Improver is the superior choice for passenger vehicle applications.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Quickshot is designed for an initial clean-up dose of 8 oz. per 6 gallons of gasoline, followed by 8 oz. per 12 gallons thereafter. Slight overtreatment has no negative consequences.

What is “engine knock” and why does it matter?
“Knock” is an uncontrolled and explosive ignition of a hydrocarbon fuel, such as gasoline, in the combustion chamber. It causes a knocking or pinging sound, robs the engine of power and, left unchecked, causes serious engine damage. Fuel’s tendency to knock is measured by its octane number. Lower numbers denote greater knock tendency; higher numbers denote greater knock control. Knock may be eliminated with the appropriate octane number.
DOMINATOR® Octane Boost
- Improves performance
- Removes carbon deposits
- Maximizes power
- Reduces engine knock
- Improves ignition
- Improves responsiveness
- Helps fuel burn cleaner
DOMINATOR Octane Boost is the recommended octane boost for all high-performance off-road and racing applications. Most users find one 12-ounce bottle of DOMINATOR Octane Boost for 15 gallons of gasoline provides the ideal performance increase.
DOMINATOR Octane Boost is also excellent as a lead substitute at the same treat rates in collector automobiles, older off-road equipment and pleasure vehicles.

Gasoline Stabilizer
AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer is engineered for use in, but not limited to, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs, outboard motors, stern-drive and inboard marine engines, personal watercraft, lawn equipment, chainsaws, snowblowers, portable generators, handheld power equipment, motor scooters, powered farm equipment, powered construction equipment, cars and trucks.
For maximum convenience and cost-effectiveness, equipment and vehicles used seasonally, such as motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, snowblowers, outboard motors and classic cars, need to start easily and run properly when removed from storage. Gasoline, however, is not formulated for long-term storage and can start to degrade in as little as 30 days. Degraded fuel leads to varnish and sludge that clog injectors, fuel lines and carburetors; stick floats; and cause poor engine performance, starting problems, increased maintenance expenses and decreased equipment life.
AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer (AST) inhibits the oxidation process that occurs when fuel is stored for extended periods, improving performance, extending equipment life and decreasing maintenance expenses.
Delivers Confidence
Treating fuel with AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer prior to storing equipment provides confidence. It offers peace of mind that equipment will not only start when it is needed, but will also perform properly.
Eliminates Need to Drain Fuel
Draining fuel from equipment can not only be difficult, it invites corrosion on the bare metal in the tank and drying and cracking of gaskets and seals. Some fuels are pre-treated with oxidation inhibitors that allow them to be stored for short periods without forming excessive deposits, while other fuels have no inhibitors at all. AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer eliminates the need to drain fuel from equipment before long-term storage. It fights fuel deterioration, severely limiting the formation of damaging varnish and deposits to help extend equipment life.
Decreases Maintenance
Deposits, varnish and sludge that form from degraded fuel can cause important components in the fuel system to become clogged or stuck and require thorough cleaning or replacement. AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer helps reduce maintenance time and costs by preventing harmful deposits from forming in the tank and fuel system, eliminating the need to clean or replace carburetors after long-term storage.
- Helps keep fuel from deteriorating
- Protects against varnish and gum buildup
- Fights ethanol corrosion
AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer is engineered for use in, but not limited to, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs, outboard motors, stern-drive and inboard marine engines, personal watercraft, lawn equipment, chainsaws, snowblowers, portable generators, handheld power equipment, motor scooters, powered farm equipment, powered construction equipment, cars and trucks.
Dosage recommendation
One ounce of AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer treats 2.5 gallons of fuel, including fuel that contains up to 10 percent ethanol.
Before storing equipment, treat it with the appropriate dose of AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer. Let the engine run for five to 10 minutes to thoroughly circulate the additive through the fuel system. Stop the engine and store the equipment in a dry, covered location.

Power Foam®
AMSOIL Power Foam® (APF) improves engine performance by removing gum, varnish and carbon deposits that affect power, operation, idle and fuel economy. Power Foam cleans intake valves, intake manifolds and throttle plates to keep the combustion intake system running at peak efficiency. Effective in both two- and four-stroke gasoline engines, Power Foam helps reduce engine ping and keeps carburetors and injector systems operating like new.
Power Foam is safe for fuel injectors, catalytic converters and emissions-control devices. It will not damage seals, gaskets, rubber or plastic materials commonly used in gasoline engines.
