A useful lubrication plan puts the right product, equipment and service information in one place. Start with a manageable record, then use it to prepare orders, coordinate service and discuss your business account needs.
Start with the equipment you own
List each asset by a recognizable name or number. Add the make, model, year, engine and operating hours or mileage. Include the equipment that is easy to overlook: generators, grounds equipment and seasonal machines.
Give every component its own line
Record the engine, transmission, differential and other service points separately. For each, add the required specification, approved product choice, quantity and schedule. This makes product differences visible before someone reaches for a shared container.
Use a practical maintenance record
- Asset ID and component.
- Manufacturer requirement and source.
- Selected product and quantity.
- Last service date, mileage or hours.
- Next service due and responsible person.
- Notes, inspections or oil-analysis results where applicable.
Start with one vehicle to make sure the record is useful, then apply it across the equipment list.
Consolidate only after checking applications
Fewer products may be easier to manage, but suitability comes first. Compare every affected application before changing the stock list. Keep separate products where requirements differ, and label the storage and dispensing points clearly.
Choose the account for how your business buys
