Where can I buy AMSOIL products?

“I want to buy AMSOIL products, but I can’t find it. Where do I buy it?”  is frequently asked.

The 2 easiest ways to see the complete AMSOIL product line and purchase what you need is by downloading the latest product catalog and then order online through an Independent AMSOIL Dealer or online at the AMSOIL Website.

You can find some AMSOIL products stocked on the shelves of some local auto parts stores, gas stations and hardware stores. Unfortunately, AMSOIL products aren’t available in all retail stores and most stores only carry a small selection. By ordering online, you can have your items shipped directly to your door in 1-2 days.

Using the AMSOIL Locator tool is a quick way to help you find your closest AMSOIL retail location or local product installer (oil change place). Again, they may only have a very few items available.

I don’t understand why all auto parts stores don’t carry AMSOIL Products?

AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils are the highest quality, premium synthetic motor oils and lubricants on the market. A lot of people associate these products with race cars and don’t realize there are products available for your daily driver as well. Since there is a smaller overall demand for “in store products”, because most customers order online, not every store will carry it. However, as AMSOIL sales continue to steadily increase, the demand may change that.

Another reason is because AMSOIL is a Direct Sales company and not your typical wholesale distributor. What this means is that AMSOIL uses its “independent dealers” to sell its products directly to its customers and Retail Accounts. While these dealers can work with auto parts stores to stock items, some store managers won’t work with the AMSOIL Dealers.

Finding AMSOIL products in stores like Napa, Pep Boys, or your local boat, motorcycle or ATV dealer also still depends on the owner or parts manager choosing to sell AMSOIL products. So, even if an AMSOIL dealer has tried to work with an individual store to sell AMSOIL they can still say no.

Some of these “chain ” stores still have independent product purchasing ability instead of a corporate person ordering, which is also a reason why one store may have it, but another won’t.

Do you wonder why AMSOIL still uses the independent dealer model? Well then, let me help you by explaining a little more about how AMSOIL Products are sold.

Independent Dealers

In the early days of AMSOIL (1972) most parts stores laughed at the thought of synthetic motor oil and the idea of extended drain intervals. That’s where the Independent Dealer system came from.  Al Amatuzio the founder of AMSOIL, decided to use a national network of Local Independent AMSOIL Dealers (like Snap-on or MATCO tool trucks ) to educate customers on what synthetic oil is, why synthetic oil was better than conventional oil and the benefits of using synthetic motor oil.

Mr. Amatuzio believed in the entrepreneurial spirit of the small business owner, because they are just like him. This is why AMSOIL has continued with their Independent Dealer business model. He wanted to give everybody the opportunity to succeed with their own Independent business, just like he has.

So AMSOIL is still sold by Independent small businesses around the country.  These independent small businesses, also known as AMSOIL dealers, have the opportunity to sell AMSOIL products through their own business. They can sell through a website, at trade shows, through catalog sales, opening a retail store or by signing up interested businesses that want to sell or use AMSOIL products.

Why Don’t you sell AMSOIL in Stores Like Walmart and Target?

AMSOIL is a premium motor oil product that focuses on quality and performance. Those types of stores are after the lowest price products. AMSOIL refuses to make products based on price over quality and they know their customer base is more concerned about quality.

Thats ok, because there are a lot of people that still look at the benefits and quality of product over price. Especially when you consider the price tags of vehicles today, why would you want the lowest priced oils in your car. However, AMSOIL does offer 3 tiers (Levels) of oil; Signature Series, XL and OE, to fit the budgets of different customer markets.

Just like a Tesla dealership manager told me one day while talking too her ” Elon won’t devalue his products by offering discounts”, AMSOIL is the same and won’t cut the quality of its products just to offer a cheap version on the Walmart shelf.

Another reason for not selling in big box stores, is to protect your local Independent AMSOIL Dealer and their small business. AMSOIL corporate has committed to supporting its Independent Dealer business model and today continues to improve it while trying to eliminate the MLM appearance. Selling products in big box stores would eliminate the opportunity many people have to earn a side income or even a full time income.

So, if you’re having a hard time finding AMSOIL, use the AMSOIL locator to find and support your local retailer or installer that sells it.  If you still can’t find it, make your voice heard at your favorite Auto parts store and request they find an AMSOIL Dealer like us and sign up to sell AMSOIL Synthetic Products.
